We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Gloucestershire, Joanne Brown, on Monday 12th November to the official opening of our new Sensory Room and Conservatory.
The theme for the day was the seaside. With buckets, spades and candyfloss at the ready, residents and visitors alike were transported to the beach thanks to our new immersive sensory equipment which is the first of its kind in Gloucester.
A huge projector screens a video on to the wall which, along with accompanying sounds and smells, provides a complete sensory experience for residents.
This all seemed to trigger a few happy memories and some interesting conversations!
Around 60 people joined in the fun including children from our local Primary school who we hope will become regular visitors in the months ahead.
