Everyone needs a break.... sometime

Looking after a loved one with dementia can be very tiring, both physically and mentally. Even if you're not actually living with them and they're receiving in home support, you still feel responsible and that you need to be available to help at a moments notice.

In these circumstances it can be really difficult to take a break even though you might desperately need a holiday, time with the rest of your family, or just time to unwind. If this strikes a chord we'd like to offer you a safe, affordable and guilt free solution.

Short residential care breaks from one week to two months

Our respite care service could be just what you need. Your loved one can come and stay at Cavendish Care Home and we'll take care of them for you, while you take that well earned rest. And don't worry, we're a specialist dementia care home so we're experts at settling in new people and helping them to feel immediately safe, secure and cared for.

In fact for many of our respite care guests it's like a holiday for them too.

I think this care home is superb

May I say I think this care home is superb. I would like to say the manager is most helpful and always there to address anything you need to say.

The senior care assistant I can't fault but there again all the staff there are very caring they treat the residents with the utmost dignity and respect and they tend to their every need whilst maintaining the friendliness and having fun with them.

I cannot fault this home very clean all wood flooring and everything is where it should be I would recommend this home to anyone.

All the benefits of full time residential care

While you're away your loved one will enjoy a refreshing change of scenery, make new friends and be fully cared for 24 hours a day. They'll have their own well appointed and dementia friendly room and can even bring along their own knickknacks and mementos to make it even more familiar, comfortable and like home.

Every day they can join in the many interesting, exciting and fun activities and events we provide.  Or, if they'd prefer not to join in that's no problem. There are plenty of places to  read peacefully, watch TV, listen to music or simply enjoy some personal reflection. For full details of all the activities we provide click here.

Our highly trained and caring staff is on hand 24/7 to help in any way needed or just to have a friendly chat. So you can really enjoy your break safe in the knowledge that they're getting the best possible care and attention.
